Last month Bold and I got our BIGGEST electricity bill ever!!!!! $450.00 for the month of December!!! Granted we did have a couple really cold weeks, and we had the Christmas lights on, and it doesn't help our heat is electric, but
geez we don't even pay that much for the truck payment!!!
We had to do something different, paying that much a month is going to break us pretty quick. Good thing I have a great brother-in-law who is a plumber.... Bold also knows how to do plumbing so we decided to take the plunge and spend the money to get central air- gas furnace.
I really don't know why the previous owners haven't done this yet.... and I was a little reluctant because of the money issue, but after seeing my energy bill I was all about getting it done and quick.
They started in Trey's room and put up the duct work in there. Still needs a few days of work but we are getting a good start on it.
It does come with a price, my downstairs looks like the drywall factory blew up!!! Good thing I am the only woman in the house and will get stuck cleaning up the mess. I think we are going to LOVE the end result though, hopefully it cuts WAY back on the energy bill!! Now to pay for the system....... hopefully our tax refund is HUGE!!!

ahh, what a mess. But Im sure it will be worth it!
My house doesn't have any ducting either, im just not brave enought to take the big plunge!
I am glad to hear that we aren't the only ones who had a outragious power bill last month...Ours was only $275.00 so I really feel bad for you...We ended up just putting a wood burning stove in. I would love central air. Congrats!!!
